CACAO JEANS by EDWIN x Meiji This is the new sustainable project in collaboration between Edwin, which innovates the new denim culture originated in Japan, and Meiji, which continues to seek “Meiji’s Own Health Value” under the slogan of “Idea for Health” 「Upcycling Cacao Husk」 Cacao beans are the raw material for chocolate. The husk (seed coat) of the cacao bean is removed during the manufacturing process because it influence negatively to the chocolate in its palatability and flavor. Meiji Co., Ltd. is focusing such non-utilized Cacao Husk, under its new lifestyle brand 「CACAO STYLE」for new additional value of CACAO. 「Cacao Denim」   This selvedge denim includes the powdered Cacao Husk and Japanese traditional paper「WASHI」blended into the Filling-Yarn. Its lighter in weight, dryer in wear, than the regular denim with shiny texture. The selvedge is colored Brown x Gold, inspired by the color of Meiji Milk Chocolate.「Fit」 Based on the fit of EDS Regular Straight that are standardized series only sold exclusively at our concept shop.   「Special Package」 Original leather labels with CACAO STYLE logo both on Jeans and Jackets. Tunning the leather to be darker and more lustrous amber color upon the use. You can enjoy the aging effect on leather label, in addition to the denim. The flasher is a limited-edition inspired by Meiji Milk Chocolate.Chocolate-style charm with the EDWIN logo is also attached.
