Open-Source The KE Digital Dash is an open-source plug-n-play Digital Dashboard upgrade for your Focus ST/RS. You may be thinking, "Open-source? Does this mean I need to know how to write code?" Nope! We provide everything you need to simply plug the unit into the car and start driving. We have designed the swiss-army knife equivalent of a gauge system with the freedom of CAN bus communication, a plethora of expansion port options. Just think of all the custom features you could add. Want to integrate a Shift Light? How about real-time graphing? Need sensors meshed with your ECU data? All of this can be done with the Digital Dash platform. Increased Performance with 1s Boot Time We've eliminated the operating system and transitioned to a fully embedded solution, resulting in a highly optimized system. As a result, boot time is now under one second, ensuring fast, reliable, and consistent performance every time. All while cutting the power consumption in half. Increased Reliability with Automotive Grade Storage We've taken all the lessons from our first-generation design and made significant improvements. One of the biggest challenges we faced was relying on a large operating system and micro SD cards, which can fail after prolonged use in a car. Our solution? We eliminated the operating system entirely, transitioning to a fully embedded system that is highly optimized and uses automotive-grade components. Faster OTA Updates and Better Support By simplifying the design, we've drastically reduced the software size from 3GB to just 16MB; a 99.5% decrease! This makes updates much easier to manage and distribute, allowing for more frequent and faster improvements. We've also eliminated the microSD card, replacing it with automotive-grade onboard storage that can be updated wirelessly through a web app. Now, updating is as simple as downloading a 16MB file and sending it to your vehicle; all without removing the Digital Dash from your car. DIY Friendly Platform In the Gen 2 Digital Dash, we've moved our web app from the main processor to an ESP32 co-processor. Why does this matter? Because the ESP32 has millions of example projects and all of our code is open-source platform, allowing you to customize it freely without affecting the core functionality of the gauges running on the STM32 main processor. It also features its own CAN bus communication and multiple channels to the main processor, giving you easy access to data for any DIY projects you want to create. Join our Discord for more updates!
