As a medium action catfish rod, the Whisker Whip XL detects and responds to the lightest bites, yet has a durable, flexible backbone that can master just about any catfish fight. Furthermore, the length of the Whisker Whip XL is great for accurate, long-distance casting, increases your drifting coverage, and helps with controlling your catfish in a fight. That is why the Whisker Whip XL rod features a rubber bottom that allows for the best grab on the rod. The cork handle and foregrip of the rod also encourage a better grip because they are both made from durable, grade “A” cork. This tends to be much stronger and longer-lasting than traditional grade “C” cork handles. Furthermore, the length of the foregrip of the Whisker Whip XL provides plenty of hand room for better leverage during a fight. ALUMINUM REEL SEAT Another feature that sets the Whisker Whip XL apart is its reel seat. The reel seat is made of heavy duty machined aluminum and is ribbed on the inside for a stronger bind. It has two aluminum locking nuts with a rubber washer in between to ensure the tightness of the reel. EXCEPTIONAL DURABILITY Each of our Whisker Whip XL 10’0” rods are made from strong, E-Glass blank. E-Glass blank is a lightweight fiberglass material that is unbelievably durable and provides a great bend and flex during a fight. The Whisker Whip XL also comes with a stainless steel hook keeper that prevents wear and tear on the guides. The Whisker Whip XL features 10 double footed, solder-reinforced guides, as well as a tip, that are made of stainless steel. Each guide is wrapped with a thick red wrap and a sports a double epoxy coating for remarkable durability. VISIBILITY Our TWC™ Whisker Whips are white so that your rod can be seen more easily at night, allowing you to continue your fight even after dusk fades.
