Indication Caya® Gel is a contraceptive gel for use with the diaphragm and cervical cap contraceptive methods. Caya® Gel increases the safety of these contraceptive methods. Their use without a contraceptive gel has been proved to be less safe. Mode of action Caya® forms, by means of the cellulose (gel-forming agent), an additional physical barrier in front of the cervix and lowers the pH of the vaginal fluid. The increased acidity and the viscosity of the gel have a motility inhibiting effect on the spermatozoa. Application Before inserting into the vagina, place about one teaspoonful (about 4 ml) of Caya® Gel in the diaphragm or cervical cap. Then follow the instructions for inserting the diaphragm or cervical cap. The vaginal applicator is used optionally if additional gel is to be introduced in front of the already inserted diaphragm if intercourse is repeated. The vaginal applicator is re-usable.
