Reyna Pina: Magnificent Monkey Oaxaca

This magnificent monkey carving by  Oaxaca artist Reyna Pina is full of motion and personality, captured in a low, prowling stance with one hand lifted as if it’s mid-step through the canopy.  The painting is superb, warm, earthy browns are layered with flowing, woodgrain-like lines that ripple across the body.
