No halter is needed when using the additional size adjuster.  The Halter Busy Buddy is constructed of industrial, hospital grade Latex tubing. If the Halter Busy Buddy needs to be shortened, simply remove the hook with a pair of pliers, cut off the rope to the perfect length and reinstall the clip. For minor size adjustments, raise of lower the halter. The Busy Buddy should fit loosely in the horse's mouth, it should not pull the corners of the mouth. Find the position where they begin to chew.
