The BBL™ light energy is delivered to the upper layers and heats the skin. Once the heat is absorbed, pigmented cells are destroyed and broken capillaries in the area are closed off. These little particles of brown pigment slough off in anywhere from 7-14 days. In the next several weeks, the body will absorb the destroyed blood vessels. The light’s energy and heat also trigger a wound-healing response, generating new cells and boosting new collagen production. Extensive studies have proven that regular BBL™ treatments, not only produces a clinically youthful appearance but causes the actual DNA expression of skin cells to reverse back to a youthful, healthy state at a molecular level.
