Rare Distressed 40s WW2 1st Pattern US Navy Foul Weather Parka - X-Large

Original US Military issue A 1st pattern foul weather parka from the World War 2 period. The fabric, style of label, size stamp, and press stud adjustable cuffs are all features consistent with later US Navy foul-weather parkas - The zip and style of the hood are what separates this from later models. First models were made on an extremely limited basis and are very rare. This pattern pre-dates the clasp-closure parkas which succeeded. A particularly irregular feature is the stamp displayed near the label. Now mostly faded it is still clearly identifiable as a British broad arrow marking with the letter "M" at the top, letters "M D" (Ministry of Defence), and the number "404" underneath. I speculate that this is a product of The Lend-Lease Act whereby the US provided war aid to other allied countries - Made in the US and issued to British Forces. Distressed with immense character - Heavily used, but still solid. Please study the photos carefully.
