Its soft green leaves are silvery underneath, and it tolerates temperatures from 5°F to 12°F. Suitable for Zones 7 (sheltered) to 9.</p> <p>The 1-inch, fuchsia-like flowers feature white petals with showy red centers. These petals are among the best-tasting edible flowers—succulent, sweet, and vanilla-like. They can be enjoyed on their own or added to fruit or vegetable salads.</p> <p>This low-maintenance plant is pest- and disease-resistant, thrives in containers, and is highly tolerant of salt, making it ideal for beachside planting. It looks excellent in landscapes and makes a beautiful hedge. Customers in Richmond and Virginia Beach have found it hardy and rewarding to grow.
