In this intro to health careers class, students will explore a variety of exciting career opportunities within the rapidly growing health care industry. Whether you’re looking to gain insight into potential health care roles or just starting your journey in the field, this course provides a solid foundation. Throughout the course, students will discover different careers in the health care field. They will identify past and current trends in health care by reviewing the history of medicine. Then, they will explore the different health care pathways and learn about the different possibilities offered by this growing field. They will analyze the skills needed for a health care career and consider themselves in one of these roles. After taking this class, students are invited to enroll in the Medical Terminology course so they can start their career in a health care pathway.
