The Chocolate gene is sex-linked and allows us to sex the chicks the day of hatch when Chocolate males are bred to black feathered hens. This produces chocolate female chicks and black male chicks. When breeding chocolate to chocolate chicks come out 100% chocolate which is what we are doing with this breed for 2024. Ameraucanas have beards and ear muffs. They also are peacombed making them excellent for cold climates. Typically, they have quiet and calm personalities and lay allot of large blue eggs.
