(Kriegsmarine weiße Uniform für einen Fregattenkapitän). A matching Kriegsmarine Fregattenkapitän summer uniform, consisting of:1. A tunic, constructed of a white cotton/rayon blended cloth with a pronounced whipcord weave. It features a turned-down collar which transitions into double breast lapels. The shoulders are flanked by boards constructed of dark navy blue doeskin with rigid card stock cores, topped by four bands of interwoven silver aluminum wire piping, and pinned with a single pip. Each measuring 35 mm (w) x 100 mm (l), the boards are fixed in place with machine stitching at the outer edge, and with gilded brass buttons bearing raised fouled anchors on the inner edge. The cuff of each sleeve is rolled up to a depth of 14 cm and secured in position with machine stitching around the circumference. Four pleated pockets are set into the breasts, all closing with scalloped horizontal flaps perforated with reinforced buttonholes, in turn meeting gilded brass buttons. Dual loops set into the upper right breast just above the corresponding pocket retain a gilded tombak Kriegsmarine eagle, measuring 95 mm (w) x 35 mm (h). A reinforced eyelet is set into the centre of the upper left pocket for the inclusion of a badge with a screwback attachment (presumably an Iron Cross I Class), while additional loops above and below the pocket accommodate a ribbon bar and additional badges with vertical pinbacks, respectively. The upper right pocket is also overlaid by two loops for the addition of a further badge (likely a Spanish Cross or German Cross). The tunic closes with four gilded buttons on the right breast (three of which are constructed of brass and one of magnetic metal) meeting an equal number of reinforced buttonholes on the left. Stitched through the top buttonhole is a ribbon for an Iron Cross II Class. The interior is plain with the exception of a small cloth label bearing a handwritten owner’s name of “V. NEPALLECK” (presumably von Nepalleck) set into the collar, above an additional label being an illegible number. The tunic measures approximately 43 cm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 55 cm, and an overall body length of 66 cm when folded on a flat surface. Demonstrating only minor soiling and the replacement of a single breast button, this owner-attributed example remains in a near extremely fine condition.2. A pair of trousers, constructed of an identical white cotton/rayon blended cloth. Six bakelite buttons are distributed around the waistband, while additional back straps form an integral belt. The front features a French fly with five hidden backlite buttons meeting an equal number of reinforced buttonholes. Two side pockets are set into the upper thighs and open with reinforced diagonal slashes, while an additional back pocket fastens closed with a horizontal slash and bakelite button. The interior is plain and unmarked. Measuring approximately 40 cm across the waist, with an inseam of 30 cm, and an overall length of 103 cm, the trousers demonstrate only minor soiling throughout, and remain in a near extremely fine condition.
