An excellent plum tree for northern gardens due to its cold hardiness down to -30° F. An abundant producer of fire-red fruit with sweet, juicy, yellow flesh. Considered a dessert plum, ideal for eating fresh off the tree. Introduced by the legendary program at the University of Minnesota in 1933, the same institution that brought us Honeycrisp apples and Meteor cherries.
