HoodOrak

24 July 2025 --- Ralph      Factory8 is making HoodOraks now, for the first time.  This first run of HoodOraks is in our 100% Wool Denim, in Charcoal, Indigo, Moss, Walnut and Natural White.  We expect to start shipping in September.  Base price for the HoodOrak is $745. The HoodOrak blends the favorite features of the Hooded Jacket and Al's Anorak: Full-front double zipper, like the Hooded Jacket Handwarmer Pockets similar to the Hooded Jacket, but instead of a zipper closure, these pockets are semi-secured by a single Slot Button.  Skipping the zipper makes the pocket a little more comfortable on the wrists, and slightly larger Inside zippered pockets, behind the handwarmer pockets Long zippers running up each side.  The zips can be used for ventilation.  There are elastic tabs at the bottom of each side zip.  When fastened to the opposing Slot Buttons, these tabs keep the sides from flapping, even with the zips fully open Zippered chest pockets, up high, on either side of the front zip.  These pockets are similar to those on the Anorak A fully-adjustable Hood Knitted cuffs, 100% wool, knitted from our own fiber/yarn at Fleck Knitwear This piece sort of snuck up on me!  Advisor JR Morrissey thought it made sense to put together the features of two favorite garments.  Then Advisor Ron Spomer got hold of it, and wife Betsy did a quick video in the coastal forest of North Carolina's Outer Banks.  Ron and Betsy invited me to co-post (??) on Instagram.  I didn't know exactly what that meant, but Betsy and Ron are our friends, so I clicked OK, and the video, the only HoodOrak visual I can offer right now, is posted on our Instagram. HoodOrak sizes from XXSmall through 2XLarge are $745.  Size 3X is $775;  4X, $805 (but we are not making 4X in this run). If you definitely want a HoodOrak we're not making now, please create a SHIP ASAP reservation by phone or email without cost or obligation.  You can also hit NOTIFY button but that is not a reservation. The HoodOrak is a unique piece suitable for work and casual wear.  The Denim is extremely tough and surprisingly warm and weather-resistant for the weight. The only HoodOrak made so far, which the tailors need to guide their production, is the one worn by Ron in the video, in size Large.  So ... I have not yet worn this piece. Our Denim is soft enough to be comfortable directly on the skin, but I expect the HoodOrak to be a second or third layer most of the time. The side zips of the Anorak accommodate so well the changing figure of an expectant Mom, we have a MATERNITY page for that garment, and I expect we'll eventually be adding HoodOrak images.  Ladies, please send photos!    Versatility is a very big part of what we do.  And there is nothing better than a baby.
