Pinguicula ehlersiae ‘Cotton Candy’ Pinguicula ehlersiae ‘Cotton Candy’ is a stunning and unique butterwort known for its soft green-to-pink coloration and beautifully curled leaf edges. This compact carnivorous plant typically reaches around 1.5-2” in diameter, making it a perfect addition to windowsills, terrariums, or small plant collections. During its growing season, ‘Cotton Candy’ produces vibrant, eye-catching magenta flowers on tall, elegant stalks—adding a bright pop of color above its rosette. In winter, the plant transitions into a succulent phase, forming a tighter rosette with smaller, flatter leaves. Compared to other forms of Pinguicula ehlersiae, ‘Cotton Candy’ is a faster grower, often reaching a larger size more quickly. It tends to display greener tones overall. The winter rosettes are comprised of up to 60 succulent leaves from November to April, meanwhile the summer rosette is formed of about 20-25 thinner and broader pink leaves. Pinguicula ehlersiae was named for Mrs. Renate Ehlers, who made the type of collection in 1979. The plants on the pictures are representative, you will get a similar plant.
