Handmotion Posters to Supplement the Heggerty Phonemic Awareness Program

This Hand Motion Poster Set is a supplement to the Michael Heggerty Phonemic Awareness Program. This program, also frequently misspelled as "Haggerty," includes movements that are described, but not illustrated anywhere in the books, so I have made up these cards in order to simplify use of the program. These movements could be used to improve any phonemic awareness program, and I've included a few of my own suggestions mixed in with those from the Heggerty program. There are also several pages of tips for getting started and ways to help make this excellent program more successful. Motions are included for the following skills: Rhyming Identifying beginning sounds Identifying ending sounds Identifying middle sounds Adding phonemes (or syllables, words, etc.) Deleting phonemes (or syllables, words, etc.) Substituting phonemes (or syllables, words, etc.) Blending phonemes Segmenting words *Note that posters are included in both color and black and white, and in large and small formats, for a total of 30 pages of posters.
